about
TranQuillus is a solo progressive-electronic music project created by American musician and producer Steve Evans. The original concept was formulated in the early fall of 2008 as an experimental platform to combine traditional percussion with electronic instruments. [Read More]
In May of 2009, after a long cold winter of solitude experimenting with synthesizers and drum machines, a 12 track EP titled "Forbidden Experiments" was released. The EP contained a collection various demos, and was independently distributed online which almost immediately sparked a small listener following. Throughout the following year the project grew, Steve continued to craft the TranQuillus sound and in April of 2010 a second album titled "Chemical Synapse" was released. This album proved to be a major step forward in establishing a unique identity as an artist.
As the project evolves Steve plans to introduce his own drum performances into the mix on a third album, which will be the first TranQuillus album to include both electronic and acoustic elements. This album will most likely be released after an extended hiatus for promotion, writing, and performing.
Steve Evans currently resides in his native land of Washington, DC. He is most notably known in the area for his graphic design work and his previous involvement as co-writer, drummer, and producer on the progressive-metal album "By Any Means". In his free time he enjoys music, visual arts, and pursuing different carriers of varying success. [Read Less]
